Our experienced Skate Lesson Team is ready to help you and your children enjoy roller skating. Each session includes a lesson, skate rental (roller skates or blades, if needed), and practice time. Fisher Price and Easy Roller skates are also available.
Advance sign-up is required — no walk-ins accepted!
What should be worn to class?
We suggest wearing something comfortable and easy to move in, like stretchy clothes or active wear, so your child can skate and learn safely.
How soon can my child learn to skate?
Children start learning to skate once they’re able to walk steadily forward and backward with good balance. Every child develops at their own pace-some pick it up quickly, while others may need a little more time and practice. Our classes give them the skills they need, but confidence really comes with practice, both in class and at home. With patience and encouragement, every skater can make great progress and enjoy the experience!
How big are your classes?
Our Wednesday classes can range from about 10 to 20 skaters. Don’t worry—there are always multiple teachers on the floor, so your child will get plenty of guidance and support no matter the class size.
What skates should my child use? Are skates included with the lesson?
Yes! Skates are included with each lesson, and you can choose between roller skates or inline skates. For the best fit, skates should feel snug. A good pair of tall thick socks helps make skating more comfortable.
For brand new skaters, we recommend starting with rental skates for the first session or two. Once your child feels more confident, that’s a great time to think about purchasing their own pair. Our staff has lots of experience and is happy to guide you toward the right skates and brands. Plus, don’t miss our skate purchase special.
Can I bring my own skates?
Absolutely! We’re happy to teach on both inline and traditional roller skates. For brand-new skaters, we usually suggest starting with regular roller skates since they offer a little more stability while your child is finding their balance.
Is protective gear necessary?
We recommend it! The most common injuries we see are actually from parents hopping back on skates without wrist guards. We strongly suggest wrist guards and encourage skaters to wear as much protective gear as they need to feel safe and confident on the floor. For extra protection, a bike helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads are also great options— especially for newer skaters or anyone who wants added peace of mind while learning.
What is your refund or make-up policy?
Because our class sizes are limited, tickets must be purchased in advance (up to one hour before class begins, unless the class sells out sooner). We aren’t able to offer refunds, prorated or make-up days.
We know family schedules can be busy, so we encourage parents to plan ahead to make sure their skater doesn’t miss out.
