Roller Skates & Skate Rentals – Sizes, Safety and Skate Helpers
What skates can I use, and what sizes do you offer?
You’re welcome to bring your own roller skates or rollerblades. All personal skates are checked at the ticket window before you enter the facility to help keep our skating surface smooth, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
We ask that wheels are clean and in good condition, with no exposed bolts, sharp edges, or damaged parts that could harm the floor or create a safety hazard.
Please note that Heelys-style shoes, skateboards, scooters, are not permitted.
Rental Skate Sizes
Roller Skate Rentals
- Toddler size 8 through Adult size 14
Rollerblade Rentals
- Youth size 13 through Adult size 13
Premium Roller Skate Rentals
- Adult size 5 through 12
Sizing Tips
Or rental skates are available in full sizes only and tend to run slightly larger than regular street shoes.
- Women’s half sizes should generally size down. Example: Women’s 6 1/2 = Size 6 skate.
- Men’s half sizes should generally size up. Example: Men’s 6 1/2 = Size 7 skate.
If your skates don’t fit comfortably, simply return to the rental counter and we’ll be happy to help you find a better size.
We also recommend wearing tall, thick socks to improve comfort and help prevent rubbing around the ankles.
What if I'm a beginner or have a young child learning to skate?
Learning to roller skate is a lot like learning to ride a bike or swimming. It takes practice, patience and encouragement. Once learned, it’s a skill that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
For safety reasons, only skaters wearing skates are allowed on the main skating floor during public sessions.
To help beginners feel more confident, we offer:
Skate Mates
Walker-style training aids that provide extra support and stability while learning to skate.
- $5 rental fee
- $2 refund when returned
Fisher-Price Skates
These strap directly over tennis shoes and are perfect for first-time skaters.
Easy Rollers
Slower-moving skates with a wider wheelbase and built-in heel stop for added stability and control.
Practice Area
Parents are welcome to walk alongside and assist their child in our designated 700-square-foot practice area. This area is designed specifically for learning skaters and includes seating for parents who wish to watch nearby.
Please note that rental skate wheels cannot be tightened, as they are designed to roll freely for the best skating experience.
What do you have available for younger children?
We have several options designed specifically for younger guests:
Bounce Quest Playground
Our indoor playground is designed for children under 56 inches tall. Parents are welcome to join in the fun too.
Kiddie Carts
For little ones who can sit up but aren’t quite ready to skate, we offer stroller-style Kiddie Carts that can be pushed around the skating floor.
Rental Details:
- $10 deposit
- $7 refund if returned within one hour
- $4 refund if returned within two hours
Whether your child is skating, playing, or riding along, we have something for every age and stage.
When is the best time for beginner skaters to visit?
While no session is guaranteed to be uncrowded, early weekend sessions and most weeknight sessions tend to be less busy and are often ideal for younger and beginner skaters.
We are typically busiest during:
- Halloween season
- Thanksgiving break
- Christmas and holiday break
- Spring break
- School holidays and special events
Summer is also a great time to visit. Our facility is air-conditioned, making it a cool and fun way to stay active and beat the heat.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, and cash. Please note that we do not accept personal checks.
Do you sell gift cards, and what can they be used for?
Yes! Gift cards are available for purchase at the ticket window during any public skating session.
Our gift cards can be used throughout the facility, including for admission, skate rentals, concessions, arcade game tokens, redemption prizes, and purchases in our skate shop.
Gift cards make a great gift for birthdays, holidays, and any skating enthusiast!
Can I use Jumpin' Jupiter coupons on a different day or time than what is listed?
No. Our coupons are valid only for the specific dates and times listed on them. These offers are designed as special promotions and honoring them outside of the designated times would reduce the value of the deal and the purpose of the promotion.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage guests to take advantage of the great savings during the times shown on the coupon.
Skating Session Expectations
What to Expect During Public Skating Sessions
Our public skating sessions are programmed to provide a fun, high-energy entertainment experience for families, elementary, and middle school students.
Games and Special Activities
Throughout each session, we feature a variety of games and skating activities designed to be both fun and help improve balance, coordination, and skating skills.
Games may include favorites such as
- Wiggle Jiggle Bug
- Traffic Jam
- Four Corners
- Crazy Skate
- Shoot the Duck
- Hokey Pokey
- Limbo
Some games and specials are just for fun, while others encourage skill-building and movement on skates.
During certain games or specials, you may be asked to briefly exit the skating floor. This is a great time to take a break, catch your breath, grab a drink at the Milky Way Cafe, visit with friends, or try your luck at our redemption games before heading back out for the next all-skate.
Music During Session
We play a variety of music throughout our skating sessions, including Top 40, R&B, country, party classics, and old-school favorites.
All music played is radio-edited and family-friendly.
Lighting and Effects
To enhance the skating experience, we use theatrical lighting effects during sessions, including strobe lighting, lasers, and fog effects. These features are part of creating a fun, high-energy atmosphere for our guests.
Rink & Safety Rules
What are the risks of skating? Falling down, being bumped, pushed or coming in contact with other skaters are a part of roller skating. If you do not wish to assume these risks, please do not skate. Spectators and participants assume all inherited risk and responsiblities while participating in skating.
Facility Policies and Rink Rules
Please help us keep the good times rolling by following the rules:
- Safety First: No racing, chasing, pushing, or playing tag.
- Go with the flow: Everyone skates in the same direction. Think of it like a traffic circle-just way more fun and with fewer turn signals.
- Big skaters, be cool: Keep an eye out for the little ones. They’re just future pros in training.
- Keep it movin’: The skating floor isn’t a hangout spot. No stopping, standing, or mid-rink dance breaks – save it for the sidelines.
- Carrying A Child: Please don’t carry your child while wearing skates, anywhere in the facility.
- Barrier Safety: Please do not sit on or climb over the barrier walls surrounding the skating floor.
- Food & Drinks: No food or drinks may be brought in. A complimentary drinking fountain is available.
- No smoking or vaping: This is a non-smoking and non-vaping facility, which also includes e-cigarettes.
- No alcohol: We love a good time, but alcohol beverages are strictly prohibited. Save the celebration for after the skate session, so you can still dance like no one’s watching (and safely, at that!).
- Respectful behavior, please: We believe in fun, but we also believe in kindness.
- Bag check: We reserve the right to check bags.
- Socks: Socks are required for skate rental and Bounce Quest activities.
- Read the signs: They’re posted in the lobby and along the skate counter walls.
- See something sketchy? Report any hazards or unsafe behavior to a floor guard or staff member right away. We appreciate the extra eyes!
Let’s all do our part to keep the good vibes – and the wheels spinning smoothly!
Personal Belongings at the Roller-Skating Rink
- Lockers are available for small items.
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen items, so please keep valuables secured or at home.
- Lockers are a one-time use fee of $0.50 (accepts quarters). So, every time the locker is opened, it’s $0.50 to relock the locker.
Pet & Emotional Support Animal Policy
As much as we adore furry friends, no pets of any kind are permitted inside the facility – including emotional support animals, comfort, companionship or well-being are not recognized as a service animal under ADA regulations. We know how special they are, but for safety and cleanliness, we have to keep the rink a pet-free zone.
Service animals, as defined by the ADA, are welcome. These animals must be individually trained to perform specific tasks directly related to a disability. We do not require documentation or certification – but we trust our guests to be truthful and follow the law.
Please note: If we discover that an animal claimed to be a service animal is not, in fact, a legitimate service animal, we reserve the right to remove the animal and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law under applicable federal and state regulations.
Thank you for helping us keep the rink safe, honest, and fun for everyone-even the ones without paws!
Wheelchair Accessibility & Roller-Skating Accommodations
Our facility is fully wheelchair accessible and barrier-free throughout-because fun should be for everyone!
We welcome both manual and motorized wheelchairs on the skating floor. For safety, we ask that wheelchair wheels be clean and dry before entering.
We also offer a private, handicap accessible restroom to ensure comfort and convenience for all our guests.
Let’s roll together-no matter how you do it!
Pregnancy & Roller-Skating Safety Notice
We love that you’re here, but if you’re expecting, we recommend sitting this one out on the skating floor. Skating while pregnant isn’t a good idea-there’s enough to manage already without adding wheels to the mix! For your safety and your little ones, it’s best to take a break and watch the action from the sidelines. You can cheer on your friends while they roll, and we promise the fun will still be there when you’re ready!
Drop Offs and Pickups
It is a privilege to drop your children off at our facility. We are here to entertain your children – not babysit.
What is considered a drop off – anyone not driving to the facility, under the age of 18 and a parent or guardian is not staying to watch.
Drop Off: (Before you leave the parking lot.)

- You know which responsible adult is picking up your child.
- What the skating session hours are and when session ends. Pickup time is 10 minutes before session ends or earlier.
- Do NOT drop your child off any sooner than 10 minutes before the session starts.
- Please note – Less than 1 hour of session left – No Drop Offs – Parent must stay. Child will not be allowed to pay and enter the facility unless parent stays to watch. Even if someone else is taking them home.
- To maintain our family-friendly environment, children and teens must be wearing skates if parents are not present in the facility. We don’t allow kids or teens to hang out without skating.
Conduct:
- Your child needs to be on their best behavior. We hold a zero tolerance for fighting, arguing with staff and profanity. Horse play and chasing are unacceptable. Keep their hands to themselves and be respectful of others. Our staff in black and white stripped or blue Jumpin’ Jupiter shirts are available to assist with any concerns or issues.
- We have a three strike policy. 1st Offense – Warning, 2nd Offense – Sit Down 10 minutes, 3rd Offense – Parent is called to pick up child.

We are not responsible for your child if they leave the building. Parents are welcome to stop in during the session at any time and check on their child.
- Parent pickup time is 10 minutes BEFORE SESSION TIME HAS ENDED or earlier. If not picked up on time – Drop Off Privileges may be revoked, the authorities may be called and/or child protective services. Be here on time to pick up your child.
- In case of an emergency or they are done skating early make sure your child has your cell phone number and able to reach you. It’s $.50 to use our business phone. If you must call to talk to your child, we will give your child a message to call you back.
