Know Before You RollHelpful Things You Need to Know Before Visiting Jumpin’ Jupiter Skate Center
Whether you’re lacing up your skates for the first time or brining the whole crew for a fun family outing, we want you to have the best experience possible at Jumpin’ Jupiter Skate Center. This covers all the must-know-info before your visit – rules, safety, accessibility, and helpful tips for a smooth ride!
Roller Skates & Skate Rentals – Sizes, Safety and Skate Helpers
Can I bring my own skates - and why do you check them?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own skates or rollerblades! We just ask that the wheels are clean and in good condition, with no exposed bolts or sharp parts. To help keep our skating surface smooth, safe, and fun for everyone, all personal skates are checked at the ticket window before entry. Please note: Heely-style shoes, skateboards and scooters are not allowed.
What are your rental skate sizes?
WHAT SKATE SIZES DO WE HAVE?
We offer rental skates in a wide variety of sizes from toddler size 8 up to adult size 14 in roller skate rental. Roller Blade rental sizes Youth 13 to Adult Size 13, and Premium Skate Rental Adult Size 5 to Adult Size 12.
RENTAL SKATE SIZES – No 1/2 sizes
Our rental skates don’t come in half sizes and generally run a bit larger than regular street shoes. If you usually wear a half size, we recommend sizing down for women (e.g., a women’s 6.5 should try a size 6) and sizing up for men (e.g., a men’s 6.5 should try a size 7). If the fit isn’t quite right, feel free to bring the skates back to the rental counter-we’re happy to help you find a better size. Wearing tall, thick socks can also improve the fit and help prevent rubbing around the ankles.
Can you tighten wheels on rental skates?
We’re not able to tighten the wheels on our rental skates, as they’re designed to spin freely for the best skating experience. However, we have several options to help new or younger skaters feel more confident:
- Skate Mates offer added support and stability on the floor.
- Fisher-Price skates fit right over tennis shoes and are great for beginners.
- Easy Rollers are slower-moving skates with a built-in heel stop on the back, and wider wheelbase for better control.
- Practicing on the carpeted area is also a great way to help kids get used to the feel of skating at a slower pace.
We’re here to help make learning to skate fun and comfortable for everyone!
Can I walk on the skating floor to help my child if they're still learning?
Learning to roller skate is a lot like learning to ride a bike or swim – it takes time, practice, and a little patience from both the skater and the parent. But once they get the hang of it, it’s a lifelong skill they can enjoy for years to come!
For safety reasons, only those wearing skates are allowed on the main skating floor during sessions. We recommend beginners start by practicing on the carpeted area to build balance and coordination.
We also offer skate mates – a supportive, walker-style bar that children can hold onto and push as they skate. It’s a great alternative to hanging onto the wall and helps them feel more secure on the floor.
If you’d like to help your child directly, parents are welcome to walk with them in our designated 700-square-foot practice area located at the far end of the facility. This space is designed for learning skaters and their helpers, and it also includes seating for parents who prefer to watch and encourage their child up close. It’s the perfect place to build confidence before rolling out onto the big floor.
What do you have available for smaller children?
Skating is fun for all ages – even the little ones! For younger children, we offer several options to help them enjoy the experience:
- Fisher-Price skates that strap right over their shoes, perfect for beginners. Tennis shoes work well with these skates.
- Easy Rollers, a slower-rolling skate with a heel stop on the back and wider wheelbase for stability, ideal for kids still learning balance.
- Bounce Quest Playground, our indoor play area for children under 56 inches tall. Parents are welcome to join the fun at no extra cost!
- For little ones who can sit up but aren’t walking yet and up to about age 5, we also have a kiddie cart – a stroller style cart that can be pushed on the skating floor. (A small rental fee applies.)
We’ve got something for every stage, so the whole family can enjoy their time with us!
When is the best time for beginner skaters?
While we can’t guarantee it won’t be busy, early weekend sessions and weekend nights tend to be less crowded and are often a better fit for younger or beginner skaters.
We’re typically busier around holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas break, and spring break, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
Summer is also a great time to bring the kids – we’re air conditioned, so it’s a cool and fun way to beat the heat!
Skating Session Expectations
Session Programming
Public skating sessions are programmed to provide the maximum entertainment for families, elementary and middle school students.
Games/Specials
Games and specials are a part of the entertainment experience our skating center provides. Some games and specials are played just for fun, and others are to encourage better skating balance and coordination. A variety of games are played throughout the session from Wiggle Jiggle Bug, Traffic Jam, 4 Corners, Crazy Skate, Shoot the Duck along with traditional favorites such as Hokey Pokey and Limbo. We run specials/games that may require you to leave the skating floor for a few moments. Please exit the skating floor, catch your breath, take a break, grab a drink at the Milky Way Cafe, talk with friends or try your luck at any of our redemption games. Then get ready for the “All Skate!”
Music/Video Format
A variety of music is played during our skating sessions from – Top 40, R&B, Country, Party Classics, and Old School Songs. All of our music is “radio” edited.
Lighting/Fog
Due to the nature of our business, theatrical fog and lighting effects (strobe and laser) are in use during the skating sessions.
Rink & Safety Rules
What are the risks of skating? Falling down, being bumped, pushed or coming in contact with other skaters are a part of roller skating. If you do not wish to assume these risks, please do not skate. Spectators and participants assume all inherited risk and responsiblities while participating in skating.
Facility Policies and Rink Rules
Please help us keep the good times rolling by following the rules:
- Safety First: No racing, chasing, pushing, or playing tag.
- Go with the flow: Everyone skates in the same direction. Think of it like a traffic circle-just way more fun and with fewer turn signals.
- Big skaters, be cool: Keep an eye out for the little ones. They’re just future pros in training.
- Keep it movin’: The skating floor isn’t a hangout spot. No stopping, standing, or mid-rink dance breaks – save it for the sidelines.
- Carrying A Child: Please don’t carry your child while wearing skates, anywhere in the facility.
- Barrier Safety: Please do not sit on or climb over the barrier walls surrounding the skating floor.
- Food & Drinks: No food or drinks may be brought in. A complimentary drinking fountain is available.
- No smoking or vaping: This is a non-smoking and non-vaping facility, which also includes e-cigarettes.
- No alcohol: We love a good time, but alcohol beverages are strictly prohibited. Save the celebration for after the skate session, so you can still dance like no one’s watching (and safely, at that!).
- Respectful behavior, please: We believe in fun, but we also believe in kindness.
- Bag check: We reserve the right to check bags.
- Socks: Socks are required for skate rental and Bounce Quest activities.
- Read the signs: They’re posted in the lobby and along the skate counter walls.
- See something sketchy? Report any hazards or unsafe behavior to a floor guard or staff member right away. We appreciate the extra eyes!
Let’s all do our part to keep the good vibes – and the wheels spinning smoothly!
Personal Belongings at the Roller-Skating Rink
- Lockers are available for small items.
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen items, so please keep valuables secured or at home.
- Lockers are a one-time use fee of $0.50 (accepts quarters). So, every time the locker is opened, it’s $0.50 to relock the locker.
Pet & Emotional Support Animal Policy
As much as we adore furry friends, no pets of any kind are permitted inside the facility – including emotional support animals, comfort, companionship or well-being are not recognized as a service animal under ADA regulations. We know how special they are, but for safety and cleanliness, we have to keep the rink a pet-free zone.
Service animals, as defined by the ADA, are welcome. These animals must be individually trained to perform specific tasks directly related to a disability. We do not require documentation or certification – but we trust our guests to be truthful and follow the law.
Please note: If we discover that an animal claimed to be a service animal is not, in fact, a legitimate service animal, we reserve the right to remove the animal and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law under applicable federal and state regulations.
Thank you for helping us keep the rink safe, honest, and fun for everyone-even the ones without paws!
Wheelchair Accessibility & Roller-Skating Accommodations
Our facility is fully wheelchair accessible and barrier-free throughout-because fun should be for everyone!
We welcome both manual and motorized wheelchairs on the skating floor. For safety, we ask that wheelchair wheels be clean and dry before entering.
We also offer a private, handicap accessible restroom to ensure comfort and convenience for all our guests.
Let’s roll together-no matter how you do it!
Pregnancy & Roller-Skating Safety Notice
We love that you’re here, but if you’re expecting, we recommend sitting this one out on the skating floor. Skating while pregnant isn’t a good idea-there’s enough to manage already without adding wheels to the mix! For your safety and your little ones, it’s best to take a break and watch the action from the sidelines. You can cheer on your friends while they roll, and we promise the fun will still be there when you’re ready!
Drop Offs and Pickups
It is a privilege to drop your children off at our facility. We are here to entertain your children – not babysit.
What is considered a drop off – anyone not driving to the facility, under the age of 18 and a parent or guardian is not staying to watch.

Unfortunately, no. These coupons are designed for specific dates and times to offer special deals. Allowing them to be used any time would affect the special value of the deals.
